Dr. R. R. Rathod

    On behalf of the students, faculty and, staff; I welcome to the Department of Information Technology. It is a pleasure to head the Department of Information Technology at Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli. As we retrospect our glorious journey of about two decades, there are numerous commendable achievements like the department's NBA accreditation and institute’s NAAC accreditation in our list.
    The department offers B. Tech. and M. Tech degree programs in Information Technology. The department has a team of well qualified, experienced and motivated faculty members to prepare the young minds of our students for global competition.
    Students of the IT department are also motivated and ready for the IT Industry with hands-on experience on current technologies/programming languages. The institute has an excellent placement record in top-notch organizations. The graduate students of the department mostly work with the core IT companies and some graduates completed Masters (MS/MTech/MBA) from national and international institutions/universities.
   The department regularly organizes various professional and personal development activities through student’s organizations like SAIT and WLUG and professional bodies, industries to groom its students. Sports, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities take place at institute level and students participate in various intra-colleges, inter-college, inter-university fests/competitions.
   Department constantly works for overall growth of students and inculcates the qualities/features that are required and acceptable by Society. Faculty/students take initiative for social causes at individual level and as a team under different clubs of the Institute.
   I am confident that the students of the department would justify the credibility of the department by showing a high level of professional competence in their respective field
